I've unplugged the displayport cable from both sides and reinserted them.

On playback devices I have enabled the monitor and also tried to make it my default device.

Some things I've done to see if I can get them working: I have the displayport cable hooked up from the monitor to the GPU and I've read that displayport does indeed carry audio.

I think the display is fantastic so far for my needs but I'm having a really hard time getting the speakers to work.

I just received the Acer ED242QR Abidpx monitor that was on sale at newegg the other day.
